Georgia Nurse practitioners directory information

A nurse practitioner, like a registered nurse, has a Bachelor's of Science degree in nursing. However, unlike registered nurses, nurse practitioners complete an additional Master's of Science in nursing program; most MSN prorams are two years long. Nurse practitioners are certified after passing a national certification exam offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Nurse practitioners can order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, and can prescribe medication in all 50 states. They can also diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries, counsel patients, and develop treatment plans.
