I am having Smart Lipo soon, and I was wondering how soon you can see results. I know what I have read, but I wanted to hear from those who have actually had the procedure. Also, I am worried that the compression garment won't fit under my clothes comfortably and that I will have nothing to wear to work!! Any input on the procedure would be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks!!!

Congrats on making the decision to have SmartLipo. I recently had SmartLipo done about two weeks ago. And I have to admit that my first laser hair removal treatment hurt more. I had a painfree SmartLipo procedure. I immediately saw results b/c the physician performing my procedure also used suction. Initially he used the laser on my lower stomach and hips. Then he suctioned and after that he lasered again to help tighten the skin. I am VERY happy with my results. I was a bit tender the first day... but it wasn't awful. The worst part of the procedure is wearing the garment. I hope this helps.....GOOD LUCK!!

I work for fig. a company which provides Smart Lipo. I would love to hear people's experiences with this procedure too. Thanks Annie.

Hey. Are you still happy with results from smart liposuction?
2/19/08
I had smartlipo done yesterday Monday Feb 18 and it is now Tuesday morning and my results are outstanding I say my doctor did a job well done! Well worth the money just make sure that your doctor uses suction along with the laser,7 mine did and the results are GREAT!!!

I'am looking into having smart lipo done and the Dr. i have seen suggested i have a thermage treatment after did you have this done to?
2/27/08
I had smartlipo done at beginning of November 2007. I had my inner and outer thighs and my bingo wings done. I have not seen any results and my measurements have not changed. The doctor used the laser and then suctioned manually with a big syringe apparatus. I went back yesterday and he said it works for some people and not for others. He wants me to go back and have more fat suctioned manually ????
I didnt diet or exercise much more after the procedure, does anyone think this is the cause for it not working?
3/2/08
I would like to have smart lipo done. It sounds like it could really work. I need some feedback on if anyone has had it done in the Portland area. Do you need to diet and exercise rigorously for the next few weeks, months, etc.? Do you get a diet from the doctor when the procedure is done? What are the health risks?

does just the tightening work without the suction? for areas that JUST need tightening? Does anyone know?
3/12/08
I just got Smartlipo done 5 days ago, I can't truely see results because I am very swollen. I know they sucked out a 750cc's of fat which I was able to see after the procedure. So I have to see some change eventually. It was really painless. I kept reading and doing research and I couldnt believe it but when I was actually on the table the only thing you feel is a pinch where the cannual goes in and that's it. I talked through the entire thing and I went home right after. The worst part is the garment during recovery but everything went well. My Dr said that I should see most of the results in 2 weeks and about 85%5 in a month and gradually I may get smaller over the next 3 months. There are no diets involved it's just body sculpting.

hi.

I have not had the procedure done, but I had a consultation in Sunnyside with Dr. {edited}. I would suggest visiting him it's a free visit and he just did his wife's knees and thighs. She showed me, but it's pretty swolln so I could'nt tell anything. I am going to get another opinion in Arizona in 2 weeks and see what that Dr has to say.

I am still very happy with my results.
3/20/08
It was actually suggested to me to have Triactive treatments after the procedure. This is typically used to help with cellulite but it also would help to speed recovery and skin tightening with the smartlipo. I had a couple of sessions and really didn't see any difference.
3/23/08
I had SmartLipo on my neck/double chin on March 20. It is day 3 and the results are significant. I have a fair amount of bruising, but it fades every day. I'm also fairly swollen, but that, too, is better each day. My doctor, who is a board-certified plastic surgeon, told me to expect to see 50% of the result within the first few days, and the remaining 50% over 3-4 months as the skin tightens. I had a little discomfort, but no pain, during the procedure. I had very minimal pain on the first day-took a pain pill to sleep that first night, but haven't needed anything since. I'm faithfully wearing my compression garment as directed, and I think that is helping the swelling. I could have returned to work after 2 days, but I'm glad I scheduled some time off, because I want the bruising to be mostly gone before going back. I'll go back to work on day 6, and I'm hoping I'll look fairly normal by then. I have about 10 pounds to loose, then I'm going back to get my abs and love handles done. I think this procedure is terrific, but it's important to be realistic. My Dr. made sure to tell me that having my abs done will help me look better in my clothes, but will probably not put me in a smaller pants size. For ppeople with realistic expectations, this can be great for the self-esteem!
3/23/08
Does anyone know how old you have to be to have this procedure done?
3/27/08
Hi Annie,
I got my surgery on my lower and upper abs done exactly 3 weeks ago. My doctor did suction also. they sucked out 750cc's of fat. I still dont fit into my cloths. I still don't see results, I'm still a littl bruised and my stomach feels a little "numb" (for lack of a better word to discribe it) so I know I'm still healing . I'm still wearing the compression garment and hoping the results will show soon. How much did you get removed, I know the less fat you have removed the faster you see results because there is not that drastic of a change for your skin. How long did you wear the compression garment for? I'm supposed to get my love handles done next week and I dont want to do it if it's not going to work. Thank you!!!
Mel

Hi Guest 18,
Have you seen results yet? How long did it take? What areas did you get done? Was there suctions done? If so, how much? I got my procedure done 3 weeks ago and I still dont see anything. I still can't fit into my cloths. I did my upper and lower abs, I know I am not completely healed yet but I would like to think I should see something. Please give me some insite on the results if you can. Thanks!

I'm thinking about having SmartLipo, Velashape or Lipolysis done and I'm not sure which is better. I'm currently doing my research and came across this site which some of your comments have help me. For those of you that have had the SmartLipo done how long were you sore, how long did you or do you have to wear the compression garment and will you be too sore to participate in extra curricular activities?
4/2/08
Hi, I just wanted to mention that I had it done to my Abs and love handles (flanks) I didn't get any results and there was no suction with the smart lipo. I had it done in October and I was told it takes 12 weeks to give it time to continue tightening. Now I am having it done over. I don't think diet has anything to do with it not working. I exercise regulary and weekly.
4/2/08
I am interested in hearing more about positive results. or lack or results.
4/3/08
Dear Roe
I had smart lipo on my jowls about 2 months ago and sadly still cant see any improvement,i thought it might be down to my age(59)but i am really disappointed.I had 4 procedures in all, love handles, saddle bags and arms. The thighs and hips were really pretty good but the arms are thinner but i dont think they look much better.I wouldnt recomend it to anyone.
I am not overweight or had heavy jowls, just a bit of loose skin due to age.54
4/7/08
Mel - I wore the compression garment for about 2-3 weeks and then I switched to control top panties. Even after that I would feel uncomfortable at times or numb as you stated. I think I may have had about half of what you had suctioned out. Therefore- less healing time for me. I'm sure it will work, but it is a procedure on your body that does affect you inside and out. Think about all the nerves that are touched by the wand. Can you see results now? Are you still swollen? I was bruised for a while. I hope this helps... Annie

Mesha-
I had SmartLipo done about 7 months ago. The worst part of the procedure was wearing the compression garment. I think I wore it for 2-3 weeks. I was able to do some walking post procedure. It took about 3 weeks for me to get back to running and dancing. It has been quite a while since my procedure, but if you want some pics I can certainly email them to you if you want.

I had SmartLipo done 4 days ago. The Dr ran the lasar and sucked fat out of my inner/out thigh, saddle bags, knees, and just laser to tighten skin and reduce ripples on the front of my thighs. I am still bruised and swollen as well as a little lumpy (all normal) but my legs are much smaller already. As things improve, I will keep you posted.

i am interested in the smart lipo procedure and would like to see some pictures if anyone is willing to send me some, i would also like to know about the healing process and the scarring

can you send me some pictures. thanks I 'm havingthe procedure in 2 weeks
5/3/08
Okay, I noticed that you had numerous areas lasered and suctioned at one time. Would you do that over again. I am scheduled for May 9th to have inner/outer thighs, love handles, stomach, saddle bags and loose skin on underside of arms. I am a little worried about having so many areas treated at one time but was given a better price for having all done. I was needing to know if you was so swollen that your clothes were tight for awhile or if swelling went down quickly. DO it hurt when they put the garment on after the procedure. I know how hard it is for me to get one of those things on and can't imagine how in the world they are going to get that on me after giving me meds. to make me out of it!! Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Danielle

Hi Maria -
I'm very interested in this procedure and would appreciate seeing any photos to get an idea of the results. I'm a 44yo female with not much cellulite but lots of extra thigh! If this procedure has lasting results, it might be for me.
Thank you -
SC
5/5/08
It completely depends on the area(s) that you have done. I sit at a computer all day, therefore -I only needed one day. But with wearing the compression garment it was uncomfortable to sit and get up at times.
5/5/08
I have the same question that many of you have asked...are the results ever noticable? I had the procedure done on my inner thighs, stomach, lovehandles and around to a bit of my back (flanks). It has been 2 weeks. My bruises are healing but I have hematomas (lumps)-noticable on the outside under the skin now in many areas. I am not too worried about that as I see it as a key part of the healing process. However, I do not notice a difference in my size AT ALL. I am confused how so much "gunk" was removed from my body yet I remain the same. The swelling feels like it is mostly gone but I am not sure...there is slight numbneess in areas. My clothes are all fitting the same as they did before. I was told that my inner thighs would be the last to show results because they are lowest of the areas done. My waist appears slimmer but I have to wonder how much of that is due to the compression garment. I have been wearing my garment all the time...I even slept in it a few nights because I found it comforting to be held in by it. I was told it takes about 2 months to really see results, up to 4-6 months for the final results yet I must admit to being sceptical at this point of it. Can anybody lend some info that could make me more optimistic about the $3500 I just dropped for this? I know that price seems pretty fair but nothing is a deal if it doesnt work.
5/5/08
mic, who did you use?
5/6/08
Mic- My results were only noticeable to me. I had the procedure done to sculpt my problem areas. I didn’t lose any weight. I can tell that I had the procedure done and people who know me notice when I have showed them. The sculpting of my love handles/lower abs did help me to go down in pant sizes. It may take your body a little longer to heal from the procedure. How much fat did they removed from your body? It takes many cc’s of fat to equal one pound (I am not sure what the exact # is)- I think I had a little less than a pound removed from all my areas. Ask your MD how much was removed. I hope this helps!!!! Annie

Hi sidney,
How did your Smartlipo turned out? I am 53 yrs old and I am considering having it on my neck and double chin, but I am concerned after reading so many negative reviews. I am also considering having my abs and love handles done (I am wondering if the results would be better with the tradicional liposuction for the abdomen). Also, could you share some before and after pictures( I understand it if you prefer not to)
Thanks,
Abby
5/7/08
If the problem with the jowls was loose skin.. I would suggest having the skin tightened or removed. You can't expect something that is for the removal of fat to take care of loose skin.
5/7/08
Abby- I have had my lower abs and love handles smartlipo'd. I think it was great and worth the money. It definitely helped to sculpt my problem areas. It is hard for most people to notice, which I think is good b/c I don't want everyone to know that I had the procedure. Between all the areas I had almost a pound of fat removed. I haven't gone down in weight, but I have gone down in pant sizes. I was a 6/8 in dress pants and now I am a 4. In jeans I was a 10 and now I can fit into an 8. Obviously with traditional lipo more fat would be taken out and recovery time would be tremendous- whereas with smartlipo it is used to help sculpt problem areas. I don't think it is a mechanism to lose a lot of weight.
I have some before and after pics. If you email me I can forward them to you. Annie

hi,
I am looking for a board certified doctor in Houston who does smartlipo. Has any of you done this procedure in Houston and would indicate me your doctor?
thanks,
5/12/08
Hi Roe,
I am in same boat with results. Did you have any problem with talking or stiffness? My one side of my mouth is still a bit weird, i can't move my mouth real good. In other words, i feel a little like my jaw is locked somewhat. the dr. put me on Neurontin for nerve pain and inflamaation, not a lot of difference yet.

I have had 3 smartlipos in the last three months. I have had amazing results. the doctor was in MIAMI, downtown. Dr Sachs. He was just amazing... more results than I expected. I lost more than 140 lbs overall with the procedures that he did. He did a special LYMPHATIC MASSAGE for two weeks afterwards as well as using the VELA SHAPE LASER treatment to aid in sculpting.
In reading all the post, I had to laugh at some of them. Either some people didnt do their researcxh on some of the doctors or they just didnt ask the right questions. The office in miami was awesome and handled my concerns personally after hours with our a service too.
The cost for me was about $3500 per procedure with discounts for additional procedures if grouped together.
The results were seen in about 3 weeks with a good percentage receipts in about 3 months. The contouring and skin tightening occurs WITH the compression garment and massage work - the massage drains out the lidocain flugid. I had my FACE, NECK, FOREARMS, UPPER ARMS, STOMCH, ABS and LOWER PUBICFE AREA completed with my HIPS, THIGHS aND BACK to be in the omnly areas set to be done in the next two months.
email me with any questions -- love to help all ---deborah

I had SmartLipo on my outer thighs and “banana rolls” done 2 days ago on May 16th, 2008. Today is my second day. I feel pretty well; I did not have any strong pain and can walk and do some home work too. I did not take any painkiller medicine, but taking antibiotic, witch my doctor prescribed for 1 week.
Regarding the procedure I can tell, that it was absolutely pain free. I did not fell any pain at all.
My IPL procedures are much more painful. Before the procedure my doctor gave me some painkiller medicine and did a shot against nausea, he also circled the areas with need to be treated.. The procedure started from the injections of ledocaine. For the tights I had probably 6 injections total done. Than the doctor filled in the fluid through the small cuts done on the areas, where he put ledocaine first, so it was not pain at all.
The fluid totally numbed the treated area and only after this he started the procedure. Firstly he used laser to melted the fat (probably for an Hr and half) and after this he socked the fat out manually, for may be another 1,5 Hr. Total all the procedure took up to 4 Hrs for the areas I treated., including preparation . Total around 900cc was removed from my outer tights.
During the procedure the doctor asked me several times to stand up and checked the treated areas. It was absolutely no problem to stand up during the procedure. The doctor even socked out some fat when I was staying to make the tights looks equal.
I am 32 and I am around 130 ponds. So far I have pretty positive experience from the procedure; I hope my final result will be positive too. Yesterday I had my follow up appointment .
When the compression garment was removed from me, I can see I have much smaller tights, but everything look kind of swelled and uneven, so it is impossible to say something about the results…but defiantly the size of my outer tights was smaller. Right after the procedure and first day I had a lot of leaking from all the cuts. The compression garment gets dirty very fast, so I can advise to purchase black garment, on nude garment the blood spots looks…. scary ?
Also it is better to have at least 2 garments to change them and pick the size carefully.
Only one unpleasant thing was in my case that my garment was a size large as I need and pressure was not enough ( the company sent to my doctor not the right size garment). So I am wearing 2 garments now to have more pressure. Wearing the garment is critical; this can avoid additional swelling and pain. Per my doctor I would need to keep the compression garment for 1 week for 24 Hrs and 1 week for 12 Hrs/day. So far it is pretty bearable, even it is so hot now in California. I will stay home for 1 more day. I am planning to return back to the work on Tuesday, this will be 4th day after procedure. I hope I’ll be fine.
So far I can tell that the procedure is pretty easy, without any critical pain and recovery seems not very difficult. You just feel a bit uncomfortable. I will update later regarding the results.
Let me know, if you have any questions. I will be happy to answer.
5/19/08
wow. so cellulite can never actually be cured?
5/19/08
Can I ask how much was the prcedure, and did the dr have a website and before and after pic?
5/19/08
I paid $2640.for the areas i treated.
( it is 20% discount now)
The doctor is in San Jose ( California).

Hi I was wondering what you had done I am looking to get my thighs area an knees done how is the Doctor?Do they do the fellow ups? How good do they take care of you after its all said and done?
5/20/08
I'had my outer thighs done.
Acctually the docotr did almost the whole areafrom hips to the knees.Even i paid for only 1 area. YEs, i had follow up appointment next day for check up and also they did second day pictures. NExt follow up appointment i will have in 1 week after the day of the procedure, than the docotr wants to see me once a month for the next 4 month. I did the procedure on Friday and on Saturday was my first appointment. On Sunday the doctor called my home to check how i was doing. That was really nice i did not expect even such attention and care. He just wanted to check how i feel and if any questions or concerns.I like the doctor and all his team.

Looking to have to have smartlipo done on love handles and ab area. I body build and no matter what I do, eat or work out harder I can not get that fat to go away. Would love to see your pics.
5/22/08
Tamela - if you go to the SmartLipo string titled "Smart Lipo was worth it: Awesome results - fast" - my pics are on the top. Thanks! Annie
5/22/08
I had SmartLipo done on my lower abdomen, sides of upper abdomen and chin. I'm still wearing my compression garment as well. I was hoping for better results. I can still pinch my "fat" lower ab but can fit into size 6 and 4 pants. The upper ab is great. He didn't do the middle of my upper ab because he said the skin would sag. The chin looks pretty good, too. I do feel my abdominal muscles (really hard!)when I massage the scar tissue. Is this still swelling? When will I look and go "wow?" I go back Tuesday for my 6 week check up.
5/23/08
Hi Annie,
I just talked to a friend of mine in AZ, who is an ER Doctor, and has recently opened an office in Phoenix doing SmartLipo. He said a lot of his patients are happy with what they have had done. I live in Michigan and am considering going to see him. I did have the traditional lipo here in Michigan in January, on my abdomin, inner & outer thighs, and chin area. I am not very happy with my results. I have some irregularities on my tummy, and more dimpling on my thighs than I did pre-op. Also, in case it helps for you to know, I am not that big...before surgery, I weighed 119 lbs, and am 5'6". I now weigh 116lbs. I was really just looking to get rid of my belly, which hasn't changed much.
Would it be possible for me to see your results? I just want to make sure I would be doing the right thing to try the SmartLipo, as I will be spending more money. Did you see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon? My surgeon here is Board Certified, but my friend in AZ is an ER doctor, who is now also a Cosmetic Surgeon.
Thank you...Hope to hear back.
Sincerely,
Kristin

My clients say that they can see the difference in a couple of days but don't see the major changes until they take their garments off in two weeks!
They say all the swelling is usually gone and they feel their best at 4-6 weeks with additional skin tightening up until 6 months.
6/2/08
Thank you...helped somewhat. Wasn't able to get a good idea of the outcome. Thank you for your help.
6/3/08
Not a problem. It helped to sculpt my areas. good luck!
6/3/08
I had smart lipo done April 4th..done on my abs and lovehandles. Aferwards I had pockets of fluid which had build up. That did go away eventually... It has been 2 months and I dont see that much of an improvement.. My husband thinks I looked better before..I don't know whether I have scar tissue built up or what. My love handles look the same or worse... I am really upset with the way they look and that I still haven't been able to fully exercise(except swim) because of discomfort. I am going to see if I can get an answer at the Dr's tomorrow. Hopefully, I am still swollen..
6/4/08
Sorry to hear about that!!! How big were the pockets of fluid? What did the MD say when you went back today? IT sounds like you may still be swollen and it does take some time to see the full results. Do you know how many CC's were taken out? Good luck!
6/4/08
I'm about two weeks out from my procedure. I had my outer thighs, inner thighs, and butt done. I obviously still have bruising but I'm so excited about the results. So far, I have not lost any size, but the doctor said I still have about 50% swelling and that I'd go down a lot, not so sure about that though. I have noticed that my legs for the first time in my life (even though I'm a competitive athlete) are tight and I can't see any cellulite anymore! That in itself is great, because now I have no problem wearing shorts, short skirts, etc. Since about middle school, I don't ever remember wearing shorts unless I had no choice because I was so embarrased about my legs! I'm the same size but happy, if there is more swelling to go down, well that would be amazing!
6/5/08
I am contemplating on having smart lipo done in July in the Houston area. I had two consultations, the first one said that I should have a tummy tuck, the second one said that I would be a perfect candidate for smart lipo. I would prefer having the smart lipo done, since I do not have time for the recovery after the tummy tuck. In my opinion I am too small for a traditional tummy tuck, since I am really not that big 34-31-34 after having two kids. It is my upper and lower abs that I would need to have done. I am not that worried about the outcome as far as the fat removal part of the procedure goes, however I am very worried that i will end up with loose skin that will look bad once the fat is gone. My stomach does not look that bad right now, however it does look fatty and it looks bad enough where I would not be able to wear a bikini, and you can definately see my rolls when I have tighter clothing on. I would like to find out more about the outcome as far as the loose skin goes after the procedure.
6/5/08
If you posted or sent us some photos, some of us could give you our opinions.
It all depends on how loose your skin is now. It doesn't sound like you would need a tummy tuck. . .but I wouldn't know without seeing you.
Of course, touching the skin is best - so you'll have to keep that in mind when interpreting the opinions.
6/5/08
You shouldn't end up with loose skin, but without seeing what your abdomen area looks like it would be hard to tell. The Smartlipo procedure really helped to sculpt my problem areas. There is a difference, but people can't really tell unless you show them. I have pictures posted at the following link:
http://www.realself.com/review/awesome-results-fast-laser-lipo
6/5/08
First of all thank you for the quick response. My skin on my stomach is not super tight, but it is not loose enough to droop either (is the fat filling it out?). I think I am just confused since the first doctor told me that smart lipo is not going to have the results of what heat would do to Saran wrap -tighten it up like that, which I understand. I am just curious how much tighening it can realistically do. On the other hand, I could just start with the least invasive option for now, and go for the Tummy tuck later if I do not get optimum results.
6/5/08
It sounds like you would be a great candidate for SmartLipo. Since your skin is "not super tight" but "not loose enough to droop", you are in the category of people that can benefit from the laser.
It will NOT tighten super sagging, loose skin. However, it will tighten up slightly loose skin and skin that has fat removed (so that it looks as good or better than it currently does now. . .but with less fat). People that I have treated who sound like you have been very pleased with their results.
If you are thinking against a tummy tuck, I wouldn't do it. You are correct in saying that you could always go back and to it later. You will be very upset if you go for the tummy tuck first and have trouble healing and end up looking worse than you do now.
6/5/08
Thank you! I really appreciate your comments in helping me contemplating my decision! If I go ahead and schedule my procedure for July somtimes; I will get back on how things went. Hopefully the results are going to be good, since form what I had learned from all my research on the itnernet, the best results can be reached if the doctor is using Smart Lipo with Vaser (spelling?) as well as suction at the same time - and that what my doctor said that will be used during my procedure.

I've been reading all of the comments regarding smart lipo as I am contemplating doing this in Fargo, North Dakota, I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, no doctor does the smart lipo here. I am 52 years old and weigh 138 lbs and have worked out my whole life. I have two grown children as well so the skin on my tummy has been stretched a few times but always went back down after the pregnancys. I have that little tummy bulge, and the "muffin top" over the jeans that I just can't seem to get rid of. If you poke the tummy it is hard, it has muscle underneath but that tiny layer of flab when you bend over. Again, the skin is not really lose, you can just pinch the inch (or inch and a half?). I'm really contemplating the smart lipo but have heard good things about Vaser lipo, have you any comments on this procedure doctor? I would appreciate any input as this is big for me, I don't mind spending the money but want to see some positive results!
Thank you!

I can tell you that I had smart lipo with suction done yesterday and I am in allot of pain. I had my upper/lower abd and flanks done. I know I am very swollen but I look the same. I had planed on also doing my inner thieghs done but they didn't have enough lidocane left. You can only use so much per you total body weight. I will have to have that done in another apt. I am not sure that I will do it. I am taking all the supplements they sell you and pain meds, but I am still in allot of pain. I am hopin that it gets better and that I will at least see some kind of result for everything I am putting myself through. At this point I wished I had not done it. I really hope I feel different soon. Good luck.

I had my upper and lowe abs done a week ago -- now the swelling has increased on the abs as well as a lot of excess fluid on my thighs -- is that normal. How can I get rid of the excess water in my legs?

Hi Connie,
Vaser is a form of lipolysis that uses ultrasound energy. It also tightens skin but has a much higher incidence of side effects.
While SmartLipo can be used extensively on the underside of the dermis to increase the tightening effect, Vaser used in this manner can result in significant scarring and dimpling.
I prefer the safety and results of SmartLipo. Vaser was "hot" a few years ago and many people thought it would be great. However, it has grown out of favor because it was so "hot" and ended up hurting people.
I hope that helps.

Thanks so much Dr. Clinton for your honest feedback. I have to travel to Fargo, North Dakota from Winnipeg, Mb. for Smart Lipo, they don't offer that in Winnipeg yet but there is a Dr. that does the Vaser here. Do you do suction with the Smart Lipo? I've also heard that getting the suction done with the Smart Lipo works best.
Thanks again, you've helped me make a huge decision!

It is definitely best to suction following SmartLipo. You want to make sure this is done.

This is very normal.
Lymphatic drainage massage should help. Sometimes it also helps to remove the compression garments while lying down and with your feet higher than your heart at night (if your doctor says it is ok and you follow their guidelines).
Make sure you are walking during the day. I have all of my patients walk 2 miles on the night of the procedure and 4 miles daily for the next 2 weeks. This really helps the swelling to go down quickly.
I have found that compression hose can also help while you are up on your feet during the day.

hi, AV,
Who is the doctor you are considering in doing your smartlipo? I live in Houston area as well and I am looking for a board certified doctor who peforms this procedure in Houston. I havent found any yet.
thanks,

Dr. Marino in Tomball. I went to see someone else as well, but I decided to go with her because she really took the time to talk to me and encouraged me to ask questions, and she was one of the first ones to srart performing smart lipo in the USA - so she really is experinced in it. I have it scheduled for July 17th - I am scared and excited at the same time.

Check out Drs. Bruce Katz or Michael Bruck. They are both at JUVA in NYC.

I have had smartlipo 3 months ago. I got it done in sc. I had my lower abdomen and bra bulge (flanks) done. I done see a change at all. When I returned to my physician in Florence, she stated that I should lose weight and then I will notice a change... she said that I gained 5 lbs and need to lose 5-10 lbs to notice a change. If it were that easy, i wouldnt have come to her in the first place. i wish I hadnt done it...well especially in florence,sc. So now i am really trying to lose weight but it was a waste of my money ($3000).You know what they say--you get what u pay for.

I just relogged into the site and wanted to offer a comment about the pockets of FLUID. To successfully hve your smart lipo achieve the best results. Lymphatic massage is needed on the area worked on to achieve the best results.
Think about it -- you are wounded inside. Your body transports fluid to soften and heal the damaged area. That fluid then stays put. You need to have the fluid pushed to the LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE PORTS within the body to move that fluid around. That will keep it SOFT and then release the fluid pockets. MASSAGE is the answer. That coupled with VELASHAPE LASER TREATMENTS which will HEAT UP the site worked on and liquify the fat left and then transport it with the fluids - out of hte body and be expressed in the PEE and POO of your body. I have seen patients have 4-5 lbs of FLUID expressed within 2 hours with LYMPHATIC MASSAGE. Its dramatic pressure and it works. You feel so good. Its better than a COLONIC in my opinion but provides the same effect. But its EXTERNALLY completed insteadly of internally drivin like a colonic.
Hope that this helps you -- Good Luck!
PS -- I have had TWO smart Lipos on my stomach area === 3 liters the first time in March 08 and almost 2 liters more in June -- same area. Lost about 14 inches from WAIT.
Make sure you take some type of DIEATRIC PILL to couple wtih the recovery of this. I took PHENTRIMINE to curb appetite and Trammadol for the pain. IT DOES GET VERY SORE. Its almost the end of September and I still have SERIOUS soreness and numbness.
No my DR was not board certififed as a plasticv surgeron. He was board certififed in Interal Medicine.
No infections resulted.

WIth what you describe, I wouyldnt do SMART LIPO -- I would consider VELASHAPE to eliminate the cellulite. ITs the only FDA treatment for the removal of cellulite and circumferential reduction of thighs.

I had my FACE, ARMS and ABS done, if you give me your email, I can send you pics

Do you know how much fat was removed? Did they perform suctioning after the laser?
Did your measurements go down? What were they?
I am happy to help with any advice.
Thanks,
Dr. Clinton
