Has anyone out there tried hypnosis for weight loss? If so, how did it work for you, what was the cost?
Thanks

I did it, it was $60, and it didn't do anything to the group of us that went. I think its just a scam to get our money!

I also tried it over a period of a couple of months and it didn't help at all. The woman even sent me home with tapes from my sessions to listen to to reinforce it.

If you want to try it, I'd suggest purchasing a self hypnosis tape of some sort. It may work better for some than others.

I was completely under each session and it's very relaxing so if you're going for stress relief, that's a different story.

Hypnosis will work but it takes time. I didn't go to a hypnotherapist but I did purchase a subliminal weight loss tape that I listened to almost continuously at my desk at work, at least for the first month or so. The more I listened, the more it worked. I started doing the things all overweight people already know - make better food choices, watch portions and get a little exercise. I listened less as the weeks progress and I began to get a handle on my eating. To make a long story short, I lost 75 lbs. over the course of about 9 months. I no longer listen to the tape but its effects have stayed with me. I've lost a total of 100 lbs and went from a size 18-20 to size 2. This method will work but you must be motivated and faithful. The tape itself is just soft music; you can't hear the words at all. The reverse side the words that are "buried" under the music but it isn't a negative message at all. Just positive thoughts of eating foods that are healthful. Again, this works but you must be willing to listen frequently for the message to take. I started doing this in the early spring of 2000. I have maintained the loss for now 8 years. Good luck! Lyla.
