What it addresses:  Acne related skin conditions, including:

- Acne scars
- Infection
- Lesions
- Pimples

Question

Acne scar removal - What works better for sensitive skin?

I have sensitive skin and get red sometimes especially after shower. Recently, I just got a small acne scar from a huge pimple that I had.

What are my treatment options? One esthetitican told me that I should try Mircrodermabrasion? Is that the best option for someone who has sensitive skin?

Several options........

Microdermabrasion has little place in management of acne scarring.  Part of the approach depends on what type of scar is left.  A depressed "dished out" scar is managed differently than an "icepick" scar. Depressed scars can be addressed with filler or with Fraxel, or Rhytec Portrait, or a combination. Ice pick scars respond to Fraxel or Portrait, but filler has little use in this case.  If the scar has violaceous discoloration,  Isolaz can be used to amend the color, and it is a less expensive alternative to Fraxel.  For the future, if you have acne problems, I would recommend you look into treatment with Isolaz to prevent further scarring.
