Bikini line hair removal - what works?

What are the best products for removing hair from the bikini line?  I would like to try a hair removal cream like Nair or something, but I'm afraid it will irritate or damage my skin.

Although there are many options available to remove unwanted hair, many find laser hair reduction as a good option to creams and waxing that require repeated, indefinite treatments. Laser treatments also eliminate "razor bumps" and ingrown hairs that sometimes cannot be addressed with other modalities.

The bikini area is one of the most common areas treated with lasers.
