Permanent Makeup is the application of a cosmetic tattoo to the face. The skin is thin, delicate and sensitive and requires specialized training, knowledge and use of safe topical anesthetics. While specialized, it is a form of tattooing, most definitely.

Permanent makeup is similar to traditional tattooing in that it deposits pigment under the top layer of skin. Sometimes that application processes are similar and sometimes they are not. The real difference is that working on such delicate areas as the lips and eyelids requires some modifications from traditional tattooing.
