I wanted to treat myself to this procedure seeing that I will be 60 years old in six months and I am glad I did. I have always had nice skin but was getting those smile lines, age spots and folds by my mouth. I actually went in to talk about possibly having a facelift; however, the doctor said that I did not have enough skin to pull and it would be a waste of money. He suggested the Active FX laser procedure and did my full face and eyes for $2,000. I had the procedure done on Thursday, July 10 in the early afternoon. I was medicated and just felt a little stinging but I don't remember too much about the procedure. I was scared to know that they were going to insert the eye protection in my eyes so they could work around my eyes better; however, I did not feel a thing. My face was white after the procedure and I kept thinking that maybe they did not turn it up enough.
When I woke up the next morning, my face was sore, red, and my eyes were almost swelled shut! I thought, what did I do to my face? For the next two days, I continued to be red and swollen but I was not in pain. It was just hard to look in the mirror!
By the third day, I was peeling and itchy and kept using the Aquaphor which really helped. On Monday, July 14th, I woke up to find the red almost all gone ..... just a little red blotchiness on my forehead and a few places. My age spots are all gone and my eyes look great! I can see a difference already so I know that I will even look better as the time passes. I actually put on makeup today to see how I would look and I was so pleased. I am still peeling on my forehead and eye area, but I still looked great.
I would definitely have this procedure done again and will get it done again, if needed, in the future. It was very much worth every penny.
