Greatly Exceded my Expectations!!

I highly recommend Fraxel laser. I have moderate acne scars along with moderate/mild acne, large pores, and a fair complextion. I used the newest of the lasers that don't require the "blue mask", instead it is a clear. The laser itself was somewhat painful, but after getting a full bikini laser hair removal, this was a breeze. The fist couple days I looked terrible. I had a bright red "moon face", I had a mild rash and was VERY swollen for at least a week. At first, I was regretting my decision, I didn't realize there was such a downtime. I did everything right, from ice to sleeping sitting up. It took two weeks before my face returned to baseline, no joke. Afterwards, the benefits were amazing. It is now 6 weeks later, and my face is looking better everyday. My pores are smaller, my skin baby-bottom smooth, my scars much more shallow, and I have yet to get one pimple!! No one told me that it would take away my acne! Reminder, this is just after one treatment. I can't wait to get more. Next time I plan on getting it done with my friends. They all are just as amazed at my skin as I am.

Hi! What is your skin color & type? I'm 35 and I have an olive color skin & oily combination skin with large pores and a few acne scars ... I'm thinking of doing the treatment, but it looks like it is working better on a lighter color skin What is the doctor's name? Thank you Sam Plantation FL.
Hi Sam, I believe that the best results are based on what type of Fraxel Laser used. Some of the lasers that doctors use are 3-4yrs old, and much improvements have been made recently in the new machines. My roommate, also with fair skin, got a series of 4 fraxel sesions with an older machine w/ blue dye, and although the results were good, they did not compare at all to mine. I could not tell you what the results would be for darker skin, I would just recommend increasing the intensity of the laser. I really can't stress how much of an improvement I got from just one treatment. I have tryed other "laser treatments" in the past and have not been satisfied with the results, I just thought that my expetations were too high. Not any more. My pores, although still there, are much smaller, my skin is soft and smooth, and my acne scars, nearly gone!! I went to Dr. Yalamanchi in Coral Springs to get the treatments. I definately recommend him, he is great!!
You are giving me hope. I am going for my first treatment next Friday and am so nervous that I am not going to be able to walk around town on Monday. I so don't want to look like a freak at the office. I just started a new job and have no freedom for any time off. My doctor uses the newest fraxel. What lotion do you use to help resolve the peeling? At 37 I am still breaking out once a month (hormone related??). I just read on to cut out dairy and the acne will go away.
Interesting you have just cut out Dairy. I have often heard this and was always told by dermatoligists that diet had nothing to do with it but I do find cutting out dairy helps reduce my acne. I also find low fat products don't seem to aggravate it. Hope this helps.
Ellisma, don't believe the dairy thing. You have hormonal acne, and the only things (taken orally) that will help control it are antibiotics and/or birth control pills (or accutane if it's cystic acne). Diet means nothing, as long as your diet is healthy and balanced. I ruined my skin trying everything under the sun for my adult acne. I tried avoiding every suspected food, to no effect. I finally found a topical product that helps -- MD Skincare Allover Blemish Solution. And I use a gentle salicylic and antibacterial wash (Murad Clarifying Cleanser). Most women with adult acne dry their faces out too much, which makes acne worse. Retin A helped me a bit, but made me much too sun sensitive. I had a blue light treatment a few years ago, with some chemical spread on my face that made it more light receptive. That knocked down my acne but burned my skin so seriously that it ended up looking far more aged than it did before the treatment. I have the acne under control now, and am thinking of fraxel repair to undo all that damage... Dairy has nothing to do with acne!!!
Hello Bowdy, Is this the Fraxel Dual Restore or Repair you have used. I am going fro my first one. I have very few mild scars but good skin besides that. The DR said that I would only need one or 2 treatments. They usually say 3 to 5 so he is not pushing it and I have been to them b4 for microderm. also they mentioned Laser Genisis to help with scarring or brown spots. Any feedback, I WOULD APPRECIATE !
Hello, I am 39 white male with great skin besides 2 or 3 very small shallow scars that bother me. I have read about fraxel. Is there any docs here in phila that anyone could recommend. Does this work on small depressed scars? thank you scott
anyone know of fraxel laser being used in the phila area or what dr you could recommend. Thank you
I was considering having a treatment for sun damage and light acne scarring. I am Male Latino with dark brown skin. My queston is; can I have the same results like a light skin person?
