I'm 19 years old and was not a suitable braces candidate in my early teen years since I played competitive rugby. Now I am in university and didn't want the appearance of traditional braces so I opted for the Invisalign option. As well, I live in an ultra image conscious area of Sydney where the "metal mouth" appearance isn't really acceptable unless you're in a school uniform.

My orthodontist was very helpful in explaining to me the ins-and-outs of the treatment and made me fully aware of the discomfort, the attachments and the elastics. The cost was slightly higher than traditional braces but the duration of treatment was comparable.

Reading the other reviews regarding Invisalign, it is blatantly clear that some patients are unhappy with the progress of their treatment. However, if you follow the instructions carefully, i.e. wearing the aligners for 20hrs+ a day and brushing after every meal (easier than it sounds) you will invariably obtain the results that the computer-imaging software predicts.
