Formulae for liposuction fluid vary by surgeon. The standard mix is IV fluid (normal saline or Ringers solution) which has electrolytes, with local anaesthetic (lidocaine usually) and adrenaline. The local anaesthetic is very dilute and some of us feel it helps with post-op discomfort while others omit it entirely. The adrenaline is designed to cause vasoconstriction of the blood vessels in the fat to reduce bleeding and bruising. Some surgeons add antibiotics or other medications and if you are curious about your surgeons standard mixture, I would ask them directly.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. The fluid injected before liposuction is called tumescent fluid. It contains epinephrine, lidocaine and sometimes, sodium bicarbonate. This mix helps reduce pain and the bleeding.l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.Good luck :)
Thanks for writing,The fluid typically has local anesthesia plus IV fluids. If one is fat grafting the solution may change based on the surgeons preference.Stephen M. The injection prior to liposuction is called tumescent. This is a mixture of IV fluids and local anesthesia. This helps constrict the blood vessels for less bleeding.

Allend2 So sorry to hear about your problems with your elastic garment after liposuction. These garments should be snug but never so tight that they cause pain similar to that which you unfortunately experienced. If you are still having issues with your arms, you should probably not wear the g...
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you have significant abdominal skin laxity if the J-plasma is considered. These procedures should be done at the same time. Why would you want to have liposuction done by one surgeon and J-plasma done by another? Doesn't make sense. The J-plasma is...
Hello. Great question. Congratulations on your tummy tuck with liposuction procedure. At 2 months you have yet to see your final results. It can take up to six months for all the swelling to subside. Keep following up with your surgeon.
