Hi, JK. You are so right as to re-cement your crown. The sooner you can get your crown over the implant the better. If you don't the gum tissue will fall over the implant and complicate re-cementing your crown later. This will start within 5 minutes of the crown coming off. So, place it back on as best you can and then check your bite. Does it feel right to you? If so, you have it on correctly. If it doesn't feel right then re-position the crown until it feels right. You can use denture gel to hold the crown in until you can see your dentist. I have used dentemp before but it is very thick and hard to use. So, don't use that if at all possible. Denture gel is best. This is the type of gel that is used to hold dentures. Use only a pea size amount. Hope this helps.
