Can a full rhinoplasty be done under local anesthesia? (photos)

A rhinoplasty can be done under local anesthesia but mist surgeons use general anesthesia. I would not use the type as anesthesia as my main criteria for selecting a surgeon however. Go with the surgeon you think is better

Although general anesthesia is used more often, rhinoplasty can also be performed using local anesthesia, especially when the patient’s nose is getting minimal reshaping. It really depends on the extent of the procedure and what your surgeon is comfortable with.

I recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon with expertise in rhinoplasty. They can do a proper assessment, address your concerns, and determine the best procedure plan you’ll be most comfortable with.

Put simply, this can be done fully with local anesthesia. You don't even need any oral sedation if you are comfortable with having procedures under local anesthesia. I do this frequently, even in the office. It's very straightforward, and, you have the chance to approve your nose before we're done!

I do Alarplasty and Tip plasty under local anesthesia all the time. It can be done safely but the surgeon has to be comfortable with it.
Looking at your nose the biggest issue seems to be the nostrils. Even an alarplasty alone will make a big improvement. For my patients who are not sure about doing both alarplasty and tip plasty, I advise them to start with just alarplasty and wait for a while (like 1 year) to see if you like the nose enough so you don't have to do anything more. If you still feel a tip plasty is needed, you can still do it.

Rhinoplasty can also be performed under local as well, and it used to be very common--a few decades ago this was the predominant method of rhinoplasty anesthesia. However, rhinoplasty techniques have evolved and general anesthesia is now much more common. Depending on the complexity of the nose, local may not be the best option, and for that reason some surgeons may not offer the approach if they feel they can't deliver their best result. However, it is a possibility you should explore with your surgeon.
