I have numbness, tingling, burning in leg after Tummy Tuck. Is this normal?

Although uncommon, permanent
numbness and tingling can occur after tummy tuck surgery, especially in the
lower mid line area between the scar and belly button. After 10
months there can be some improvement but it is doubtful. In most cases there is
some sensation present, just not the normal pre-surgical amount. The good news
is that it does not affect your normal functions and with time, most people are
no longer aware or concerned with its presence.

Very rarely you can have pain and/or numbness of the outer leg. This may have to be managed with medication for nerve dysfunction and best managed by a pain management physician

Hello, I agree with the recommendation to obtain an opinion from your primary care physician to determine if there is a cause for your discomfort which is not related to the surgery.The symptoms which you are describing can be related to the abdominoplasty. If the incision is placed in a very low position just above the groin area sensory nerves for the thigh can be affected. Usually this is a temporary condition called a neuropraxia or nerve injury which will gradually improve with time.The improvement, however can be slow . If the symptom persists discuss the option of seeing a neurologist with your surgeon.
