02051974DOB,Thanks for the questions. It takes 6-12 months for a scalp scar to mature. Re-growth should occur by that time, any visible scars can be hidden with hair transplantation. Hope that all is going well.Sincerely,Bernardino Arocha, MD
I wish very speedy recovery for you ...Your hair normally (and expected) grow 1 cm monthly . There is no reason for you to stop hair growth after surgery except chemo or radio theraphy . You may experience the hair lossin the İncision lines but it may fixeed with hair transplant
I do hope you are feeling well and thanks for the question. In the first 3 weeks after any surgery, there may be some valur in keeping a wound and scar moist to assist in epidermal healing. Be sure to ask your surgeon. In general, any incision leads to scarring. Many scars in the scalp lead to permanent areas of hair loss. Some degree of improvement can occur over 6-9 months but it is usually not complete hair regrowth and some degree of persistent loss is present. The best option for this is hair transplantation. There is no oil, or topical treatment that can promote growth in a well healed scar.

I suggest a formal consultation to see what is best. Typically PRP, progesterone, viviscal, finesteride (male) / spironolactone (female) can help. Biopsy would be needed and blood tests if you have widespread loss. Best, Dr. Emer.
