Will laser lipo fix liposuction results? How likely am I to have bad results w/ laser liposuction like I did with regular lipo?

During your procedure some areas  were over treated (parallel linear depressions) and under treated (fat patch). Your results were far less than ideal and yet you are now considering Liposuction of the buttock (don't do it!) and fat transfer. Nearly all women in the country request some treatment that will result in a more pronounced derrière. Fat transfer may result in an enhanced bottom, butt it may also result in a lumpy bumpy surface. In the future the combination of fat transference with stem cell injection may improve aesthetic outcomes. Factoring in your post Liposuction results, I would recommend that you seek an opinion from a plastic surgeon with many years of experience (would you be a candidate for implants?). Adding laser energy to Liposuction will not guarantee improvement of the issues mentioned above, but will increase your risk for an internal burn. Yours in health.

Liposuction under local where the doc can stand you up and have you turn in all  positions helps tremendously in getting smoother, better results and is easy to undergo. Fine tuning lipo is needed.

This is difficult to answer without pictures. Laser liposuction is good for problem areas of fat, but lacks body shaping. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction revision, if you're a candidate. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the smoothest result. Hyperpigmentation can be improved with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. Thanks for the question, I am sorry you did not have a great experience your first time. It would be nice to see some pictures to help with the answer. In short please see someone that does a lot of liposuction in order to get a good answer. Sometimes when someone has an experience like yours I will go in and just smooth things out without doing any fat removal!

The honest answer is that the skill of the surgeon is much more important than the type of lipo you've received.  We have had to do numerous revisions and it did not matter what type of lipo was done on the patient initially.
What did matter was that the first surgeon was inexperienced.  Please make sure that the surgeon has the proper skills before undertaking lipo again.

I’m so sorry to hear about your complications! I know how difficult it can be to trust someone enough to have a revision surgery after you experience complications like this.
I see a good number of patients for liposuction revision in my practice. The laser portion of laser liposuction is particularly helpful when you’re correcting an uneven result such as yours. The laser helps me to evenly melt the fat and remove it for a very smooth result. I’ve also used laser liposuction for revision work on BBLs with great success. I’ve noticed a strange trend in my BBL revision cases in that some doctors aren’t removing enough fat in the lower back, just above the butt, to give the shape women want. I’ve done a good number of revisions like this with laser liposuction as well. As long as you and the surgeon have a clear understanding of where you want less fat and where you want to leave untouched, this should be an easy fix.

When it comes to the darkened skin, there are so many things that could have caused this, and it’s hard to know without seeing photos. Some of the things I’ve seen cause issues like this include burns from a laser liposuction system used too aggressively, seromas/hematomas that weren’t properly cared for after surgery, or it could be a strange skin reaction to your garment, or something else – it’s just very difficult to say without photos. In any case, the new Smartlipo Triplex system has safety features that would prevent any future burns from happening, and seromas/hematomas can usually be resolved pretty easily if treated quickly and to resolution.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Revision liposuction is technically challenging. If you have an area of previous liposuction that you would like to be improved, there are a number of available techniques. These include traditional liposuction, laser liposuction, and fat grafting (amongst others). I suggest that you seek in-person consultation to evaluate your options. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with.
