How long will it take for me to see final results after surgery on a brachioplasty? (Photos)

HI Shivaun1984, Thank you for your questions and pictures regarding your arm lift or arm reduction.  Based on your pictures taken ONLY two weeks from your brachioplasty procedure, you have outstanding arm results.  Your plastic surgeon should be commended on his/her excellent arm work.  It is true that it takes some time to see the final results after an arm lift.  Healing after an arm lift is different for every patient.  Some patients heal eight weeks after an arm lift.  Some patients take longer to heal after their arm lift.  As in your case, patients with larger arms take longer to heal.  Please be patient.  If you ever doubt your results, carefully and objectively look at your before arm pictures and realize how much better your arms look.   I would suggest you follow your plastic surgeon's advise.  In my practice, I have my arm lift patients wear their arm lift garments for a minimum of six weeks.  If they have continued arm swelling, I have them wear their arm garment for longer.  Arm garments help to reduce arm swelling and aide in flattening the arm scar.  Thank you for your questions regarding the appearance of your arms after your arm lift or brachioplasty.  If you have any other questions regarding the arm lift, arm reduction or brachioplasty, please contact my office.  Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. 

It can take 6-12 months for final results. You appear to have a very nice result.Close follow up with your plastic surgeon is recommended.

Yes, the postop swelling can absolutely take up to 6 months. Your pictures look great so far and your scar is well hidden. Keep following his or her postop instructions regarding compression wraps, scar treatments, etc. Great transformation!

Significant improvement already.  Concur with your surgeon:  six months may be a reasonable amount of time.

The time it takes to see the final results after brachioplasty (arm lift surgery) can vary from person to person. In general, you’ll start to see some improvements immediately after the surgery, but it may take several weeks to months for the swelling to fully subside and for the scars to fade. Most patients can expect to see significant improvements within 3-6 months, and the final results may become more apparent after a year or more. Your surgeon will provide you with a more specific timeline based on your individual case.

Everything looks good at this stage and things will continue to improve. It looks like your PS is advising you appropriately. It can take 12 months for arm lift scars to settle. 

Excellent early result and it will getting better during the next period.You will see the final result after 6 months and i am telling you should be very happy so far.Any plastic surgery procedure has had swelling that getting better from 6 -12 months.

Be patient.  You are in the very early stages of your post operative recovery and swelling can persist for many months.  It can take up to 12 months before you see the final results of surgery.

I have to say that you are still early on healing process, it is too soon to determine how your results are going to be, per now, they look very nice. It depends on each patient, most of the time is between 6 months and one year to see the final results.

Your arms look great!  it can take 6 weeks for 80% of the healing to take place and swelling to finally reduce significantly.  Wearing your compression sleeves with give you the best shape in the end.  Try to be patient, it can take up to six months to see your result.  Nice already!
