It is normal to be swollen for weeks to months especially after a hi definition procedure. Pain is less common but improved with VANQUISH and Cellutone/Z Wave treatments and venus legacy. My patients get lymphatic massages for 3 months as well. I suggest you see an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
It is very common to have swelling after liposuction. It typically takes about three months for the swelling to completely go away. At nine months there is approximately a 50 to 60% reduction in the thickness of the skin. It is very important to wear your compression garment as directed by your surgeon. I recommend lymphatic massage to my patients after liposuction to smooth out certain areas of lumpiness.you should discuss this option with your plastic surgeon.best wishes,Dr Ravi Somayazula
Most patients do not have pain and minimal tenderness six weeks after liposuction.Postoperative discomfort varies substantially from patient to patient. They can also be a substantial difference based on how the procedure was performed.Aggressive liposuction which is sometimes indicated believe patients sore for much longer.Patients who are thin may also perceive more muscle discomfort after liposuction. Some patients well perceive sensitivity as the nerves heal and sensation is regained in the treated area. With time discomfort after liposuction is almost universally resolved. Most of the swelling will be gone in six weeks though three months to six months is more realistic for the remainder of swelling to subside. Be patient and follow up with your plastic surgeon.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
Dear msshelly84, it is completely normal to have swelling and pain six weeks after undergoing liposuction. Liposuction is an invasive procedure, so the swelling and pain are natural responses to parts of the body being surgically altered. Most patients will experience swelling and pain for up to six months after surgery, so at the moment you shouldn’t be too concerned about swelling and some sensitivity. If your abdomen becomes significantly swollen or if the pain becomes unbearable, make sure to contact your plastic surgeon immediately so that he or she can ensure that you heal properly and without issue.

Pain should not be significant even after a hi definition procedure. And pain should resolve days to weeks after the procedure. Please see evaluation if you are concerned. Best, Dr. Emer.
Discoloration can happen with aggressive liposuction and can be improved with hyperbaric oxygen and radiofrequency treatments. Sometimes this can be permanent if not treated early. Best, Dr. Emer.
