Dear Emily_layla, Thank you for your clinical submission and photo. It appears that you have a hereditary asymmetry of your brows; the left being higher than the right. This is an aesthetic variation that can sometimes provide a displeasing appearance. If this asymmetric appearance of your brow does, in fact, bother you, you have several options. The easiest solution is the use of Botox® to try to create some brow symmetry, which can usually be performed quite successfully in the hands of a very experienced Botox® injector. I have been injecting Botox® for over 20 years and have been performing browlift surgery as well. I find that this kind of subtle brow asymmetry can be corrected with injectables and you’re not subjected to the same risks of surgery. The problem with an injectable Botox® approach to brow symmetrization, or creating symmetrical brows, is you have to keep repeating the Botox® three to four times a year. As this is a hereditary condition not subject to aging, the fact that you are young does not contraindicate the use of surgery. A unilateral browlift on the right side, performed under local anaesthesia, using a small telescope and a small incision is an excellent way to provide more symmetry to the brows. The procedure is quite straightforward, can be performed in under an hour and is very successful for long-term balance correction. For more information, please review the link below. I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck. Sincerely, R. Stephen Mulholland, MD Certified Plastic Surgeon Yorkville, Toronto
