Just thought I'd post a pic showing the way I look now to the non RealSelf crowd????.

I feel great not carrying around all that extra skin and jiggly muffin top fat!

9 Weeks Post TT and Liposuction

All is going well for me and I am back to all my normal activities. I am continuing to wear my support garment during the day and it feels good to have the gentle firmness around my abdomen. I still have some swelling and numbness but I am used to it by now. I can sleep comfortably in any position and my monthly full body massages are wonderfully relaxing and helpful.

I am very pleased with my emerging hour glass figure as I have never had one before. I have gone down one size in pants to a 10 and am thrilled. I still have some slight muscle tightness in my abdomen but it is not annoying, just something I notice now and then.

My weight has stabilized at 152 from a pre surgery weight of 165 and I feel comfortable at that weight. I still rely on my Fitbit app to log in all my food eaten (calories) and make sure it is less or equal to my calories out. I am back to 10,000 steps daily with 1hour active walks and this routine is now second nature to me and a normal part of my day. My stomach gets full faster as it is now "cinched in" and this helps keep my weight stable.

My incision is healing normally and I have added some photos of the beautiful surgical results of my extended TT and liposuction. Dr. Clark is a very skilled and talented surgeon and an artist to boot! I will be forever grateful for her amazing skills and her warm and caring nature.

3 week Post Op Update

Well, I am feeling better everyday and will resume my part time job this Friday. I still need a good nap every afternoon and since I only work 4 hour shifts 3-4 days a week I feel ready to get back to my normal life.

Swelling is still present and according to my nurse at Dr. Clark's, all is going very well with my recovery. I was given a silicone based scar gel at my 2 week checkup no old to start using it twice daily starting tomorrow.

I am walking regularly daily in the (cooler) evening after sunset and this is helping me get my strength and vigor back. A much needed full body massage (avoiding the abdomen) helped release all the tension in my shoulders and neck and spine. Now I can walk fully upright as long as I concentrate on keeping my shoulders back.

I was advised to change my post surgery compression garment as it was getting too loose on me. Yay! I found a wonderful garment made by Maidenform. It is a Flexees Women's Shapewear Wear Your Own Bra Torsette. I tried it on in Macy's and ordered it on Amazon Prime for a Nicky reduced price. The best thing about this garment is that it fits like a girdle meaning I can wear regular panties and the very wide slightly padded straps are great for keeping me walking straight up and shoulders back. It smooths and supports and snugs up my abdomen and all my liposuction sites ( there are lots). It stays in place perfectly and this is the first time I can remember that I am wearing a medium in any type of underwear!

I am continuing a low salt diet with lean protein ( low fat milk and yogurt and chicken and eggs) and whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies, and low fats. My coffee intake is much less as my taste for that is slow to come back and surprisingly, my sweet tooth is not active. I prefer sweet fruit instead and i found that juicy cold watermelon really hits the spot on our warm to hot summer days.

I am enjoying seeing my hour glass figure emerging and my flat stomach feels better everyday, except for the regular swelling in the afternoon.

Slow and steady wins the day so I am ready for incremental improvements over the next 3-4 months and even further in the future.

I am glad your recovery is going well! I had a tt, hernia repair, and flank lipo on March 27th. My incision came apart, but I just got my second set of stitches out yesterday and got permission to start exercising. I am 60 and love the fact that the older gals can do this too! God bless you!

You look fantastic! I'm so glad that I found you...Oh, and we're neighbors! I live in Loomis off King and Auburn-Folsom. I just turned 60 in March. I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair and breast reduction on June 5th. I am now 2 weeks post-op. I had it done at Kaiser Sacramento by Dr. Jesus Garcia. So far, I'm very happy. Day 4 and 5 were the most difficult with swelling. By evening it was difficult to breath. Dr. gave me a larger compression garment and the swelling has gone down, so I'm feeling much better. Everything is going better than I expected. I'm trying to get off the Percoset - I'm taking one every 6-8 hours. I can make it through the night and feel good in the morning but if I wait too long to take it, it becomes difficult to regain control of the pain. You have such a positive attitude, you have no idea how much it helps. I tend to get impatient and depressed, more so with the breast reduction. I want to go shopping for new bras but I'm stuck in this huge ugly recovery bra for I don't know how long. Did you hear the whining and self pity in that last statement? Lol! We're in the middle of a heat wave as you well know, but after reading your entries, I'm going to go outside tonight and do some gardening. You have inspired me! Have you started driving? If so, when? That might help me feel less confined. I look forward to hearing more from you. -

Thank you very much for your kind post. I think it is wonderful that us 60 and over gals are embracing body contouring. It's also great to find someone on this site that lives so close to me. My recovery has been great except for me overdoing it after week 2. I guess I was so glad I was bouncing back that I disregarded my post op instructions and started walking too much and started reaching, bending, and twisting when I should have been less active. I ended up having very painful (excruciating) muscle spasms along both of my sides. I think this must have been where my vertical internal muscle suture lines were. My bad completely. I didn't want to take any of the Percocet as it gave me horrible constipation. I tried acetaminophen and Flexiril and that did nothing. I called Dr. Clark's office and the nurse told me to try naproxen and ice packs and that finally did the trick. A few more days and the spasms were gone and I have greatly reduced any shearing motion movements with my body and limit my exercise walking to 30-40 minutes per day. My swelling is ongoing and I must remember it is a slow recovery process that the body must go though after this very disruptive surgery involving my lymphatic, nervous, soft tissue, and muscular systems in my abdomen. My incision is healing very well after I started using a silicone scar cream supplied by my PS office. When that ran out I purchased a product called ScarAway from Jet.com. They are adhesive silicone strips that come 6 to a box and are 1.5 x 7 inches long. I cut each one in half lengthwise and 3 of the strips completely covered my very long extended tummy tuck incision. They can be gently washed and carefully dried to be reused and the adhesive sticks like crazy. I leave them on all the time and only remove them when I shower. I gently massage the area when I am showering and my only hard lumpy area is now resolved. I started driving at 2 weeks and went back to my part time 12 hour/week job at 3 weeks. It was a bit of a struggle for me but now I am handling it very well. At 3 weeks I still very much needed my daily afternoon 2 hour nap. I still nap but not daily. Good thoughts to you on your healing journey!
