Lift lift #2 + filler to lower lip

These photos were taken yesterday. I no longer have tooth show 11 weeks post surgery. All my lift is in the center, leaving me with a bit of a rabbit look. Per my previous observation, I felt at the time he drew the markings he did not take enough off from the side. I feel my concerns -- 11 weeks later -- were justified. I believe his technique works fine for people who already have good vermillion show throughout the lips. I did not so I definitely needed lift on the sides, which I pointed out to the surgeon at the time of surgery.

Do you feel you still have swelling in the top lip? I don't think the top lip looks bigger. If it bugs you just the tiniest bit of filler in the bottom lip would easily provide more balance. I see what you mean about the sides, though. Try a few units of Botox in the DAO muscles to see if it lifts up the corners a bit. My derm did this for me and it does create a tiny bit of lift on the sides without impacting facial movement.

My top lip is bigger, esp in the AM. It may not look like it in the pics but trust me, it is. I am going to another doctor to tackle the lower lip, hoping to enhance it just a little. (Not a lot.) But I do overall think where I am now is better than where I started 1.5 years ago.

Lips looks different from different angles. It might look bigger to you when viewing from underneath but look proportional straight on. Not sure how a photo would make it appear smaller than it is. You probably also have a small bit of swelling left. I can't imagine you'd want the top lip thinner than it is but a tiny amount of filler (use Lyft not jurvederm bc it's not as hydrophilic) should easily fix it vs another surgery. But that's just my 2 cents.

Yes, was going to say that I have the same issue with my corners. I get 5 units of Botox on each side injected into the DAO muscles and it does help! I also notice a better upturn when smiling and talking. Arrrrgh, this aging thing is never ending :/

I do think it's been an amazing improvement from where you started and the scar looks invisible.

I personally think you look awesome. When we seek perfection we are often times disappointed. Considering your before and after shots, you look amazing. Give it more time to heal and hopefully you be more satisfied then. Good luck

I think your lip looks great -mine kind doe the same thing- I honestly think it's due to my cheeks losing volume and the skin sagging. I tried a little filler- it helped a little. You have no scar and it looks natural- thee is a risk of nasal distortion and scarring due to tension if too much skin is removed from the sides.

I think your lips look quite natural and very kissable! I am with you in seeking perfection, however. It's hard not being able to go back in time to conversations we have had with surgeons. But that being said, I think if you did nothing else, the vast majority of people would find your lips very pleasing!

Ummm. Your mouth is gorgeous and natural looking. You do not look bunnyish at all. Maybe a tad bit of filler in lower lips to balance. I would love your result.

13mm

It's almost 3 months from the time I had my lip lift. My lip has dropped a little. I am now 13mm.
So I had 4mm taken off my 16mm upper lip and it now measures 13mm (not 12mm) three months later.

So you did not experience the lip contracting up, revealing more tooth show, as you've healed? That's my fear-that it just continues to drop as swelling dissipates. Mine is also too long and I'm only 2 weeks out.

I have no tooth show now. The lip is longer and the nostrils have been pulled down a little.
May 6, 2017
Also, did your nose go back to normal? If so, when did it happen? My nostrils look flared and the tip is pulled down-hate the look! And I have a vacation to Europe in 3 weeks where I'm seeing old friends and not sure I'll look normal by then?
May 6, 2017
My nostrils still don't look normal. They are pulled down. My tip is more upturned now.

Do you feel the nose/nostrils improved at all in the last couple months? Do you think it will go back to normal eventually? Wondering if you had this issue with the first surgery?

Here is a Before shot, an After Surgery #1 shot, and After Surgery #2.
Each time has been an subtle improvement. But I wish I had a bit of tooth show and, frankly, it still feels a tiny bit too long, if I am being picky.

Looks great-huge difference from before! What do you measure now?
April 4, 2017
12mm
May 6, 2017
As of May 4th, it is 13mm. So I have dropped 1mm in the last month. Alas.

Is the middle shot before the corner lift or after? Also, it looks like the folds/wrinkles on the side of your mouth have disappeared? You were concerned about that a few weeks ago but it looks like it resolved. These procedures made a huge difference in your looks!
April 4, 2017
I believe it is before the corner. I should have posted the photo with the corner as the middle shot but in the last photo you can see a subtle difference the corner lift made. The folds seem to have disappeared, yes. The measurement is now 12mm, down from 22. And I will post at the one year mark to see if the lip fell 1 or 2mm, making my upper lip 14mm. I think think closer to 11 is the ideal.

I'm trying to decide how much to take off. I've read there's some risk of taking more than 25-30%. Not sure how true that is. You had almost half taken off and look amazing. I'm about 18-19mm now and thinking 7-8mm removed would be good. Dr. Spiegel told me about 1/3 but I really like the pics I've seen where he takes more.

One more question:did you have any filler in your top lip after the first photo or is the additional volume just from the lift?
April 5, 2017
No filler. All increased volume just from more vermillion show due to LL.

I think it looks great- you nose is improved too by the shorter lip. It looks natural. You can enhance with lipliner and lipstick and it will look even better. Your scar is non existent. You look very young for your age and not overdone. I think that is the most important thing- that is looks natural and you have no scarring- If you had more removed it might look "done" IMO
April 6, 2017
Totally agree with Carol. It looks beautiful and natural. Your nose also fits your face perfectly now. Any more and it might have looked unnatural.

You look great. The distance looks perfect. I agree with above that any shorter and it wouldn't look natural for your face and nose . Lookin good!
