I wish I could reverse time and go back to before I had this filler placed in my smile lines

$3,300
Let me start this review by saying I really wanted to like my experience here because Dr. Nelson’s personality and bedside manner is GREAT. What is not great however was giving me more product than I needed, costing me $3,300 in my 29 year old face with not many wrinkles. I came to get my smile lines redone as they were previously dissolved from one other injector. After leaving Dr Castillo’s office I barely noticed any results.Days after I started seeing old and new smile line filler come together to create a ripple like appearance in my cheek that was not previously there. I am currently paying drs for multiple sessions to get this filler dissolved (which is very expensive for each session btw- can amount to thousands) as well as still paying my care credit card for the filler. When I expressed my concern about this he stated that he did not place filler in that area, denying him any fault in this. I never saw any before and after pics of my face showing there was an actual difference either.
He refunded me portion of what I paid and said he did not offer full refunds. He did not offer to dissolve the filler so I felt uncomfortable coming back in and have since been paying other drs to dissolve what has been done. I am now 3k+ in the hole after the partial refund (half the price of a facelift) for absolutely nothing to show- and the price will keep going up until all the filler is dissolved- and I don’t know how many sessions that will be. I wish I would have done more research and looked at before and after photos- those can really give you a look into the drs technique.
Please try not to upsell your clients, and please, please- if they are extremely unhappy with the results then at least work on a plan to help them remove all of the product without making them feel weird about the whole experience.
I wish I could reverse time and go back to before I had this filler placed in my smile lines as this is extremely stressful having to get this filler dissolved. He even said as he was filling my smile lines that this filler is harder to dissolve but better for smile lines I believe it was restylane.
When telling drs or injectors about how much I paid for my smile lines they all gasp in awe that that much filler was even used in my face as I’m still in my 20’s- it def wasn’t necessary and I didn’t know at the time but now I have the knowledge to know that less is more and not every dr has your best interest.

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear this. This may be a silly question but did you ask him about the possibility of dissolving the area he worked in? Wishing you the best in this journey.

Yes, actually I saw him a couple times after me he said there was nothing wrong with the work done and just made me feel too uncomfortable to come back or even ask for it to be dissolved.

*and. He clearly knew I was not happy with the work and I wanted it gone for my face as I expressed in my emails to him and he did not offer to dissolve it.
