Well..it's been a long 1 1/2
I've had the perma lip and 2 lip lifts. I still can't say for sure if it's worth it, given the nostril distortion. I do feel that the internal suturing does make a difference in a negative way. The first lift I had external sutires and only. Few Internal. Second (this review) was all internal. I feel that this lift has distorted my nostrils and cut off my natural sills. Although, from the front my lips look better, but I don't know if it's worth it.

I just had my lift done a little over a month ago and I am still swollen and going through the bigger nose syndrome. Don't you think in 6 months time your nose will shrink more? For what it's worth I think you look 20 years younger!
March 27, 2016
I have looked at these carefully, going back and forth. I see there is a difference. BUT I also see that the curve of your nostrils is retained. I think you look good in both pictures and if I just met you now, I would think you looked normal.
With no medical authority behind me to bolster what I am about to say, I find myself still thinking that the difference seems like it might be a wee bit of swelling. I can't quite put my finger on it. It might be the different lighting or the different position in which you took the photo, but your nose in the first pic looks a tiny bit more narrow, from the tip upwards. I have read folks on here who say that their nose took a year to calm down and that the recovery for a second lip lift took much longer. So the Fat Lady hasn't sung, as far as I am concerned, on your healing.
I write this in hopes of trying to make you feel validated, give you hope and also reassure you that you are still beautiful.

Yes it's not as narrow and my tip is pulled down. I can still feel the sutures disolving. I think the internal sutures caused more pulling and stretching on my nose. And thank you!! Still holding out!

Hi Corinnej7! My nose was swollen for 1.5 years after a lip lift, so don't worry about it not being as narrow as before-it will go back to the way it used to be. Having said that, my tip, columella and nostrils are STILL pulled down. I feel I look unrecognizable as if I had a rhinoplasty instead of a lip lift, so I can definitely relate! I had a lot of internal dissolvable sutures, so I think they are partially to blame for the nose distortion. The amount of skin removed is important too. I had way too much taken in one go, which also contributed to my nose looking different.

wow 1.5 years? I got mine done almost 9 months ago and i feel like my nose is still not back to normal. Something is still different about it and i can't figure out what :(
December 12, 2016
YES, 1.5 years! It was horrible. Still is but at least the swelling is gone. I've been told by several plastic surgeons that my nose is different because too much skin was taken, hence the distortion. My nasal base is pulled down and I have a lot more nostril show than prior to the lip lift surgery. Hopefully, the difference you're seeing now is entirely due to swelling and not a permanent change. How much skin did you have removed if you don't mind me asking?
December 12, 2016
Never mind, I didn't realize you posted a review with pictures. You said that Dr. Rodriguez removed more skin towards the center but looking at the markings it appears that more was taken on the sides?
December 12, 2016
Thank you!! Yes.. unfortunately my whole nose has been pulled out and down. My nostrils lost their natural curve they once had. More nostril show and my tip pulls down when I smile. Who did your lip lift? I'm so sorry you went through this too.
December 13, 2016
Thank you. :( I had my lip lift by Dr. Kristina Zakhary in Calgary, Canada. So much skin was taken that my nose base is almost touching my upper lip now. I literally don't recognize the person in the mirror! It's as if I had a face transplant instead of a lip lift. The wide scar I ended up with is just a bonus.

Believe it or not, this is swelling. My nose looked like your after picture for an entire year and a half after rhinoplasty. It will go back to original shape. The tip and the flaring of the nostrils will go down. The nostril sills, can we see a closeup of how they look a the moment?
Give it time.
Give it time.

Her concern is that she didn't have a nose job, she had a second lip lift. But I still think what she has is swelling, too.
March 30, 2016
Yes I realize it's the second lip lift, but I think the swelling is presenting very similar to a rhinoplasty with tip work. And that type of swelling goes away very slowly, over a period of months/years.
March 31, 2016
Thanks!! I hope its swelling
I feel like I look so weird when I look in the mirror.

When I look at your two pics side by side I really think your nose, lips and overall face proportions look stunning compared to your before photo. I hope you take this as a compliment. I know I analyze my face a lot too. I had the lip lift by Dr. H between 6-12 months ago and want a second for more lift but still thinking about it. Thanks so much for sharing your trials.

I think you look A LOT better now than before. I barely see a difference in your nose. It looks good. I think you are over obsessing on details.

Nose is still different
Corinnej7March 25, 2016
Hello all. I am over 7 months post op and I have distorted pulled down nostrils which make them look bigger. A wider nose especially when I smile and the tip
Had been completely pulled down.
I regret doing the second LL.

Judging from this before and after comparison in my humble opinion you look better. Perhaps you are right about the nose issue and this comparison is not manifesting it well. But to me , this looks like a good result.
March 25, 2016
I agree with Ann you look great sweetie, a huge difference, it's been a long journey for you, and I think your end results are fantastic x
March 25, 2016
I agree with the commenters below. From these photos, you have an improvement. I see the difference in your nose, but your nose still looks like a normal nose to me. Have you asked close friend who would be willing to tell you the truth, if your nose looks distorted or unnatural in rea life (as opposed to the photos you are posting, which sometimes can't capture reality very well)
March 25, 2016
They have not noticed anything. But it's all I can see. It's even wider
Any ideas on what can fix it?

Your closest friends don't see it? Only you can see it? Do you really think it is worth the risk to try to fix what no one but you can see? Sometimes when we choose plastic surgery as a solution, we end up going down a rabbit hole forever tweeking and fixing. (I speak from intimate knowledge of this.) But I've learned to let some things go ...some of the scars, the cellulite, the too short nose...Think long and hard about whether you want to keep chasing the Perfection Rabbit.

You're right!! I still am considering the corner lift. But the nose.. That could cause a whole new series of events
I appreciate it!!

Thank you!! I just feel like it's all I see sometimes.

If you are concerned with wide alar base, you could consider alar base reduction procedure. There is an incision made on the inside of each ala to decrease the size.

I am so sorry for how you feel. It is so so hard. I think you look better but I know it can be hard to judge from pictures. I learned a couple of years ago how important it is to see someone in person to completely judge the outcome of a lip lift. Especially when the muscle is involved in the lip lift procedure. Seeing someone speaking in person, will allow you to see if their speech is affected and whether they have an unnatural looking smile and mouth movements.
Anyway I wanted to reassure you that we all understand how difficult it is to judge from a still picture. But judging from the still picture I think you look much younger and from the frontal view, I think your nose looks very youthful and cute. Hugs!!!!

Am I the only one that thinks your nose ( especially in this photo ) looks the same as the before nose photo?? I think you look great and overall this was a big improvement
