YOU ARE WELCOME TO EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT MY STORY
RETIN A changed my life, I started getting acne at about 18 yrs old, my Dr prescribed Oxytetracycline antibiotics but these did nothing, when I told him he prescribed Retin A 0.05 to use in conjunction it changed my skin and my world! It cleared my acne and improved the overall tone, pores and texture of skin, I was so happy after the misery I had suffered.
When I stopped Retin A as I thought I may not still need it my acne and bad skin returned so I continued using this into my late 20's as like my father I have stubborn adult acne.
When Retin A was stopped in the UK I immediately searched the internet and purchased Retin A from different E-bay and Amazon. After 1-2 weeks of trying the products purchased I quickly developed cystic acne, my skin peeled badly and looked terrible I had to stop using this so called Retin A
I was referred to a dermatologist and she said the Retin A I purchased on the internet was likely sub standard ingredients or possibly even fake, she said sadly this is common and why you must not buy this. My face also started showing acne scars and lack of collagen.
She prescribed Trimethoprim (unusual for acne I know) in conjunction with Epiduo face cream and after a few months the Cystic acne thankfully stopped.
I also use Panoxyl 10 in the morning, this is cheap and helps a lot, you can buy this over the counter in the chemist I highly recommend this as it kills surface bacteria contributing to acne.
Although Epiduo is a Retinoid and helped, it did not help with the uneven tone, large pores and acne scars starting to look prominent but it does stop acne I would recommend this product.
MY MISSION
I decided after pondering my problem of being unhappy about the appearance of my skin and not being able to access Retin A which could change my situation I was going to find a quality reliable source of Retin A! No matter how much time or effort it took I was going to solve the problem. I contacted private dermatologist in foreign countries and manufacturers of Retin A and followed the supply routes to the US and Asia to make sure what was available in those countries was actually supplied by genuine manufactures.
Eventually I flew to Asia and managed to arrange a meeting with the supplier of Jesson Cilag products (Johnson and Johnson) to the Bumrumgrad pharmacy section (most credible) hospital in Bangkok.
After various meetings I managed to get an agreement for them to sell me a regular supply (I used the product myself for 6 months first to ensure the supply is 100% real and good quality before making it available to others) the whole point of my mission was to get the real product for myself and make it available to others, after what happened to me with the fake products I would never compromise on my values when it comes to quality it would have been a total waste of all time and effort. I hope one day the people selling 'Fake or poor quality products' understand how dangerous this is.
TODAY
Its been just over 6 months and this is how things panned out .... After 3 weeks (approx) of using RETIN A 0.05, every other day to start with to avoid peeling redness etc my acne has kept been kept a bay, then I started to see the overall tone of my skin improve, it is so much better and my pores size reduced at this point I started to get excited as all my efforts I knew were worth it in the end. After week 4 my acne scars started reducing greatly and I also had the added benefit of wrinkles reducing (although this is definitely not a priority for me) 6 months down the line I feel great, I still have acne scars but nothing like before and the rest of my skin looks normal which to me means amazing!!!!
For anyone that has been through a painful journey like mine and feels Retin- A will help them please email me if you would like to talk about any products I use as part of my routine or any part of my journey, I am happy to help anyone that has suffered like myself. andylpeppers@[link removed]

Glad to hear you've had success w retin a. I'm hoping I do as well. I have mild acne w sun damage and fine lines that I'm hoping to improve. I just had my 4 th microdermabrasion today and am planning to start the retin a micro in a few days. My derm said I should mix it w a 15% glycolic acid nightly. I know both retin a and glycolic acid are Amazing for the skin so am really hoping to see improvement.

Hi Sheba, Retin A really is an amazing skin product on many levels and I am sure you will be happy with the results. I have sun damage too as I am fair skinned and was sunburned a lot as child. Retin A ensured my skin looked good but when they stopped selling it in the UK and I couldn't get use it anymore within weeks I looked awful!!!! Now Im using Retin A my skin looks a lot better. I do not have any experience with glycolic acid apart from I have heard it is helpful. I am sure you derm knows his stuff. Best of luck and please let me know how you get on.

Thank you. One more question. When I say sun damage I mean like weathered looking cheeks from fine lines. You think the retin a will help the texture of my skin look smoother? That's what I'm praying for.

Also do you moisturizer at night when using the retin a? If so do u apply before or after the retin a? I know ur supposed to wait 30 min. After washing before applying the retin a.

Hi Sheba, yes it will help but not like a face lift, because the tone of the skin will get better as the Retin A will change this from with it will improve the appearance. You will need to stick with it, it doesn't happen overnight.

Hi Sheba,
I didn't used to use a moisturiser, I used to put a think layer of Retin A in the evening and then use a good amount of oil free moisture in the morning. This is because my skin was used to Retin A. Initially I would put on a think layer of Retin A, leave 20-30 mins then an oil free moisturiser. Personally I wouldn't mix the two together at the same time but I think some dermatologists say it is fine to do so.

I am so glad that you decided to share your story, and I especially appreciate that you highlighted the dangers of buying prescription topicals online, I was wondering about that. I will have to look up Panoxyl 10 for my kids, they both get mild breakouts, thanks for mentioning that. Would you consider sharing some photos with the community, you can click here to update if you decide to share some. Thanks again!

Hi Eva,
I am not sure where you based but if you cannot find PanOxy you can use Quinoderm equally as effective they stopped supplying it in the UK for reason.

Hi Eva,
I will share some photos soon, I am a little self conscious but it will be worth it so people are able to see the improvements and may encourage them to use the product. Thank you, Andy

Ok if I feel I need one at night I will wait 20 min after applying the retin a. Planning to start treatment this Thursday slowly to minimize irritation.

Hi Sheba, the skin adjusts after a while and you will find you can use it almost nightly.
