I haven't had another treatment but interestingly, my tattoo continues to fade. Since I highly doubt that this tattoo can be removed completely, I am hesitant to continue subjecting myself to the pain and trauma. I really need pain relief during the actual treatments. I have paid for six treatments and I have only had two. I'm so afraid to go.

Hi thanks for sharing your story
So you have done 2 treatments so far ? What type of laser have they used ? Looks like the colour is coming out nicely . Thinking on removal mine has red and orange flame surrounded by a lot of black....

They are using the stanza Trinity laser

I wonder if they could just go to a lesser setting for the next session? If you just let them know how hard it was on you!

Are you treating the entire area per session? It might help to treat it in parts since there is so much ink

I have had the entire tattoos treated both times.

Hi! The pain is no joke! I highly recommend Dr. Numb - I slather it on probably 1.5 hours before my appointment and then cover it in Saran Wrap so it can really absorb. Then I ice the whole area for a good 45 minutes where it's pretty numb. I keep the Saran wrap plus ice pack on until the last minute before I'm on the table. I also take Tylenol and a Xanax. It's such a process, I hear ya. Of course I say this and I haven't been back to my treatment since March 2018

You are a trooper! I've had two sessions to remove a small tattoo on my finger and it's one of the worst pains I have felt. I'm amazing by your results and how quickly your tattoo has faded.

Several months after treatment x2

So it's been several months since I had a treatment or posted an update. I have taken a break because it's summer in Florida and it's hard to wear long sleeves and not get my skin tanned. I am waiting for my tan to fade so I can resume treatments.

Fading

I am taking a break from treatments for awhile because I am going on a cruise. I want to be able to be in the sun without worry. I feel less self conscious since the black has faded to gray and the lines are not so bold and dark. I will try to enjoy my vacation without thinking about this damn tattoo. I will have another treatment after my sun tan has faded in the fall. Living in Florida, it's hard to avoid sun exposure in the summer. It's hot here and I don't want to wear long sleeves on my time off!

I'm removing Tattoos on my forearm for 2 years now, and I can't imagine living in Florida with that. I live in northern Germany, so it's generally long sleeve weather here. But the summers are hard, too.
I highly recommend staying out of the sun IF any scar tissue has formed, since the scars are very sensitive so sunlight and can turn brown.
But taking a long break between treatments is always a good idea.

I still haven't had the 3rd treatment since the area always seems to be covered with itchy bumps. But the fading has continued. I need to post an updated picture.

Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I'm on a similar one. Now I have a 4-inch long keloid scar to go with my ugly tattoo. :-( But I am quite hopeful I can remove the ink with the new lasers, and remediate the scar, too. I believe where there's a will, there a way. Keep us posted on your progress!

I still haven't had another treatment. The lasered area seems to be always covered with itchy bumps. It does seem that fading has continued even without more treatments.
