I understand that working with the front cartilage can be difficult but I kind of have a set vision on how I would prefer my nose to look. I would like minor change, enough to get rid of some of the unflattering contours. Is there a doctor in my area that would be able to perform a nose job like this. I don't want my nostrils narrowed or anything. I just want those unflattering, boxy sides gone. Would this be an open or closed rhinoplasty and how long would it be before I see results?

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for the questions. Typically, the rhinoplasty procedure can address the concerns that you mention. It's hard to really determine what is best for you without an exam. I use the Vectra 3D Imaging system to give my patients an idea of how their nose can possibly look after surgery.See a board certified plastic surgeon that has a lot of experience with rhinoplasty surgery for a consultation, she or he can give you a good idea of what you can expect with surgery. Best of luck! Sincerely, Dr. Michelle Spring

Answer: Boxy sides of nose I am assuming you are referring to the tip being boxy. The boxy appearance is from cartilages and these can be made smooth and narrowed without effecting other parts of the nose. It can be done without any bony work or nostril narrowing. Both open or closed approach can achieve it. RegardsDr. J
