Any concerns regarding your pre-operative appointment I would suggest contacting your surgeons office. They can let you know what was ordered and if fasting is necessary or not. Best of luck with your future surgery!
No fasting needed unless fasting blood work is required, for example glucose level if your are diabetic.
This depends on the types of tests your surgeon will be doing at your pre-op. Generally speaking, fasting is not necessary if blood work is not done. However, I would suggest asking your surgeon.
It really depends on what your specific plastic surgeon does for the pre-op appointment. In my practice, it isn't necessary because we aren't doing any blood work at that appointment. The blood work that I do send my patients elsewhere for does not require fasting. Make sure to check with your PS! Good luck with your upcoming surgery!
In general, if one is good physical condition, fasting for your preoperative appointment is not necessary. If your surgeon instructs you to specifically, then you should. This may be done if one is assessing blood sugars and medications for that. On the other hand, one should not have food or drink for a number of hours prior to your surgery. Often, instructions will prohibit food or drink after midnight the day before your surgery.
Hello,Unless your Plastic Surgeon requires fasting pre op blood work to be done at that appointment I would say, not likely. You do need to fast before Surgery. I recommend that you call your Plastic Surgeon's clinic for detailed pre op instructions.Take care
I appreciate your question.Fasting for surgery not a preop appointment. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery.best of luck!Dr Schwartz
Fasting shouldn't be necessary prior to your preop appointment. Sometimes bloodwork is done while you are fasting, but the bloodwork that is done before this type of surgery doesn't require it. Best wishes for your surgery!
Unless you are having specific bloodwork done which requires fasting, there is no need for you to fast for your pre op appointment. However for surgery you will be advised for your safety to avoid eating or drinking anything after midnight the night before unless instructed differently by your surgeon.
Thank you for your question. Each Plastic Surgeon will have a different protocol for their pre-op visit. Here at our practice we do not do blood work, so we don't require you to fast. Your Plastic Surgeon should give specific instructions as to what your pre-op appointment will look like and whether or not you should fast.
Thank you for your question. I recommend seeking the advice of your operating surgeon regarding this matter. I tell my patients to wait six weeks before performing any rigorous physical activity, but please address this with your surgeon who knows how well you are healing and what...
Compression socks are necessary only if your surgeon recommends them as part of your post-operative plan.
Hello,Thank you for your question and photos. Yes, it is possible to still have a little residual swelling 4 months after your procedure. I recommend that you wait until 6 months to assess your results and visit with your Plastic Surgeon at that time to discuss possible, additional liposuction...
Thanks for sharing your concerns with us.Dental work before surgery is not a good recommendation. I suggest you to postpone one of the procedures to another moment to avoid unnecesary complications.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Hello,It sounds like that drain is on it's way out and no longer effective. You need to be seen in person. At one week, depending on your level of output, it may be fine to just completely remove it. Contact your Plastic Surgeon. All the best
Hello,I'm sure your husband is not alone in his thinking, however most people report that silicone cohesive gel implants feel VERY close to the real thing and many people cannot tell the difference. They are typically less palpable, less prone to rippling and have better movement and feel...
