Is it normal to have milk leak 12 days post op after breast augmentation?

procedures. The breast augmentation can cause the milk ducts to become
stimulated and begin producing. This side-effect is temporary and should
subside in the next few weeks. If you have further concerns or milk production
increases with time, I would recommend discussing this issue with your surgeon.

Hi ashley.cc, I understand your concern. Breast milk leak after breast augmentation surgery is a common side effect of breast augmentation which is caused by the stimulation of the milk ducts during the surgery. This should resolve over time. If you are concerned, please check it with your plastic surgeon for reassurance and to further discuss your options.

Ashley.  I appreciate your concern, but it is not uncommon to see leakage of small amount of milk from the breast after augmentation, especially since you stopped breast-feeding less than one year ago. As a precaution, check in with your plastic surgeon, but I doubt you have any reason to worry. Good luck.

Congratulations on your recent surgery.  Breast milk leakage can occur with patient even though you are not still breastfeeding.  The recent surgery has caused the milk ducts to react which is common.  There is not need to worry as this can happen.  Good luck with your recovery.

It is not unusual to have a small amount of milk leak from the breast following augmentation surgery.  It can happen intermittently for several weeks.  The sensation of milk letting down is normal as well.  Many different factors contribute to this phenomenon.  The structural changes of the breast, now having an implant in place.  The stretch and compression of the tissue.  The trauma to the nerves and their healing all play a roll.  This should become less frequent and stop on it's own.  If it were to get worse or continue make sure you follow up with your surgeon.

Occasionally we do see breast milk production after Breast Augmentation, and we believe that this is caused by the stimulation of surgery on the gland itself. Generally this does not last long and the amounts are small, but if this persists then an evaluation is important as, in rare circumstances, this can be the sign of other issues in the breast or hormone production abnormalities.

Congratulations on your breast augmentation. Leakage of breast milk can certainly happen long after you ceased breast-feeding when breast implants are placed.  If it continues to a degree that is bothering you see your plastic surgeon as there are medications which can reduce
